EUGENE, Ore. – How to protect local pollinators is the focus of a Willamette Valley Pollinators presentation at Lane Community College on Thursday, January 31 from 1-2:30 pm. in the Building 3 boardroom on Lane main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene.
Bee experts will present information and take questions about how to protect local pollinators. The event is free and open to the public.
Luis Maggiori, Sustainability Coordinator for Lane, says the event will help Lane earn Bee Campus USA certification. Bee Campus USA fosters ongoing dialogue to raise awareness of the role pollinators play in our communities and what each of us can do to provide them with healthy habitat.
If Lane earns certification, it would be the fifth higher education campus to be certified in Oregon, joining Portland State University, Portland Community College, Southern Oregon University, and the University of Oregon.
