CARE at Lane

The Career Pathways Department can help any LCC student connect with a variety of community resources, including helping you apply for SNAP and  housing, food, or tuition assistance. If you’re already receiving SNAP, they can also help you connect with the STEP and other programs that can help you succeed at school.

As a student at Lane, you’re a part of a community dedicated to helping you succeed!

Student Life and Leadership Development supports students by helping with basic needs through a Food Pantry as well as the School Supply Shelf and the Book Exchange. All services below are open to all students currently enrolled in classes at Lane Community College.

Book Exchange

In Winter 2019, the Lane Student Government Association in partnership with Student Life & Leadership Development set up a book exchange shelf outside of the Student Life office. The Book Exchange operates similarly to the Little Free Library, a global book-sharing movement, “Take a book, share a book.” The book exchange is open to all students and employees at LCC.

Donations

We accept books, textbooks, and magazines. All items are free; no money is exchanged. You may either place your donations directly on the bookshelf or leave your donation at the front desk inside the Student Life office (CEN 201).

School Supply Shelf

In Fall 2018, the Lane Student Government Association in partnership with Student Life & Leadership Development and Campus Surplus set up a school supply shelf outside of the Student Life office. This shelf is stocked with school supplies for LCC students. Available items may include notebooks, ruled and graph paper, folders, pens and pencils, paperclips, rubberbands, and more. Items vary according to what we receive from campus surplus and community donations.

Donations

We accept donations of office and school supplies for student use. Items in greatest demand are quad-ruled graph paper, college ruled notebook paper, erasers, and pens including highlighters. We also accept colored pens and pencils. You are welcome to check with us about specific items. If you are a college department, please send your items to surplus so that we stay in compliance with the college procedure for disposal of campus property. Please leave your donation at the front desk inside the Student Life office (CEN 201).
