What you’ll earn

Lane’s LPN-to-RN Bridge program is an educational path where licensed practical nurses (LPNs) can further their education and career.

Associate Degree

Using your LPN education and experience as a starting point, this program offers in-depth curriculum at an accelerated pace that will prepare you for the next level of your nursing career.

The curriculum provides a strong foundation in the practice of nursing and prepares students to function safely within the framework of the Registered Nurse’s role. Throughout the program, students integrate classroom theory with clinical experiences that are related to the theory component. Nursing education incorporates effective therapeutic communication techniques, critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills, and the development of sound nursing judgment.

Our graduates have an exceptionally high job placement rate. Whether you plan to work after licensure or continue your education in a RN to BSN program, you'll be well prepared by our rigorous program. Some RN to BSN programs our graduates have gone on to include Linfield UniversityOregon Health Science University, and Bushnell University. If you are interested in concurrent enrollment, so you can work on your bachelor degree while in our associate program, consider Grand Canyon University.

LPN to RN Bridge Program Information

Prerequisites

Classes required before entering the program may vary depending on placement into Math and Writing Classes. Please click here to learn more about course placement and consult the catalog for detailed information about prerequisites.

BI112 Cell Biology for Health Occupations is a prerequisite for Anatomy and Physiology at Lane.

Please be informed that students who are admitted to any Lane Community College Division of Health Professions program must show evidence of meeting Health Profession Student Clinical Training Standards for the State of Oregon prior to placement in clinical courses and internships. The programs will provide provisionally accepted students with information related to submitting required documentation to a third party agent at mandatory orientation and/or through program correspondence. 

Students are advised that any flag on a drug and alcohol screen or criminal background check (e.g. positive results for narcotics, marijuana, alcohol and/or other illicit substances; any criminal history) may interfere with, or prevent, clinical placement and graduation. Students are responsible for all costs associated with meeting the Health Profession Student Clinical Training Standards

Minimum GPA requirement at graduation

Please be aware that you will be required to have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of graduation in order to graduate and receive your certificate or associate's degree from LCC. Please also be aware that only LCC courses count toward your final GPA.

Some of these programs and careers include exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases. Training is included to protect both students and patients.

Accreditation

Effective July 3rd, 2023, the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing program at Lane Community College in Eugene Oregon  is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on July 3, 2025. A site visit is scheduled for October 10, 2024.
