Dental Hygiene - Application Information

Dental Hygiene Application Information:

  1. Applications will be submitted via a specific LCC Application Portal. This is a one-stop place to fill out application info and upload the PDF application form and supporting documentation.
  2. ATDH Admissions Test:  Learn more about the Admission Test for Dental Hygiene (ATDH). You can take the test anytime. Be aware it may take four weeks to receive your results, so make sure to factor that into your application timeline.

Students need to get their Dentpin and sign up for the ATDH exam ASAP to make sure you receive test results by mid-April.

Steps to Apply to take the ATDH Test:

  • Using the above website link, click on “Get a DENTPIN” (or use an existing one if you have one already). There is no fee to get a DENTPIN.
  • Apply to take the ATDH test 60 days in advance of your application to the program. The DENTPIN is required to apply to take the test.
  • Once you've registered for the test, you can take it at any time.
  • Be sure to schedule the test at least 4 weeks in advance of the application deadline. You will
    need the ATDH exam score to apply to the program.
  • Exams may be taken at any Prometric Testing Center (Locations in Oregon: Eugene, Bend or Portland)
  • $140 testing fee includes official score reporting to all dental hygiene schools and programs selected at the time of application.

Clinical Observation of a Dental Hygienist is now required for applications.

Applicants must complete a minimum of eight (8) documented hours of observation of a clinical dental hygienist practicing in either a general dentistry or a periodontal practice setting.
