The planned improvements for Building 16, the Math and Science Building at Lane Community College, are set to address several critical areas. Key enhancements include modernizing the laboratories to provide state-of-the-art facilities for science education. This upgrade aims to create an optimal learning environment, equipped with advanced technology and resources to support innovative teaching and research.
In addition to lab enhancements, the project will focus on updating the building systems to improve energy efficiency and overall functionality. A roof replacement is also planned to address aging infrastructure and prevent potential leaks and damage. Furthermore, seismic remediation is a priority, ensuring that the building meets current safety standards and can withstand seismic events. To support these essential improvements, a Seismic Rehabilitation capital construction grant was applied for in December 2023
