Manufacturing Plant Electricians

PROGRAM

Power up your career!

Start your future while working in your field

Take classes at Lane while working as an apprentice electrician. Manufacturing plant electricians provide basic electrical maintenance on existing equipment in factories and industrial manufacturing facilities. They also install and wire electric motors and machinery of all sizes, and perform preventive maintenance on production and facilities equipment, initiate and modify electrical designs, and update electrical drawings.

Prepare for your journeyman card

Our program combines both real world, on-the-job training with classroom learning.  The apprenticeship lasts four years. You'll do 144 hours of related training per year and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Afterward, you can take your licensing exam through the Oregon Building Codes Division. With a few more courses, you can get your associate degree in construction technology.
