Medical Assisting Applications

CHANGES FOR 2025-2026: 

1. The Medical Assisting Program is transitioning to a One-year program, beginning Fall term 2025, with the core MA courses spanning 3 terms, with the MA Co-op taking place in the 4th term. This will provide students with a more efficient and less-stressed means of learning all the skills needed for successful Co-op experiences in local medical clinics. From pre-requisite courses to completion of the clinical Co-op internships, the entire program can now be completed in 5 terms.
2. Applications will be submitted via a specific LCC Application Portal. This is a
   one-stop place to fill out application info and upload the PDF application form and supporting
   documentation.
3. The math pre-requisite has changed to Math 95/98 or higher. (Math 52 is no longer being accepted.)
4. The Psychology pre-req has been discontinued as of Fall 2025. In its place, a choice of Communication courses has been added to the core program classes. (*If psychology has already been taken, it will be accepted in lieu of communication for Spring 2026.)
5. Computer and BT 165 Accounting are discontinued.

MA Information Session November 13th, 2025 from 5:30pm-6:30pm in building 32 on main campus. This is an opportunity to learn more about the MA Program and how to complete the application process. There will be time for Q&A.

Application Information

The MA Spring Application will be live on December 10, 2025. Please do not try to apply before then. 

1. If you are new to the college, please begin with the general admission to Lane Community College application.
2. If you have already been a Lane student, please log into the Application Portal and choose the "I have completed program requirements and am applying to a special admission program" option so that you can be directed to the MA Program Application.

• Find a list of prerequisite classes in the 2025-26 course catalog. 
• The program can accept a maximum of 24 students. 
  *Florence students are welcome to apply. Please note weekly clinic labs are on Main Campus.
• By the start of the program, students must provide documentation of specific immunizations, background check & drug screen. Details will be given during the program orientation. Read a Summary of Requirements.
