From our solar panels, native plant landscaping, EV charging stations, and many other green initiatives, sustainability forms a central part of Lane's identity. As a student, you can continue this legacy by volunteering in our Learning Garden, joining student groups like OSPIRG, or working with faculty and staff on the Sustainability Committee.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Interdisciplinary study including physical and biological sciences, social and behavioral sciences, economics, the regulatory environment, and business management
The principles of sustainability: healthy economy, healthy environment, and healthy communities
Research using libraries, online sources, and regional, national, and international networks
Data collection and analysis, statistical analysis, and basic mathematics
Environmental audits, laboratory and field tests, and reports for internal and external stakeholders
The causes and costs of sustainability including pollution, climate change, loss of biodiversity, water quality and supply, and human health
Sustainability laws and regulations
