Quality Points: What schools use to calculate your GPA, the number of credits taken times the points for the grade. Each letter is worth a certain amount of points per credit.

President / Vice President's List: Here at Lane, we have two special honor categories on your transcript called the President's List and the Vice President's List.

The requirements are:

  • President's List: Completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours with a term GPA of 4.00.
  • Vice President's List: Completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours with a term GPA of 3.55 through 3.99.

Each of these awards are automatically applied to your transcripts if you meet the criteria and will never go away. There is no paperwork needed to be placed on an honor roll list.

There is currently no public way for anyone to view who is or is not on the President's or Vice President's list. You will only be able to see your own honor award on your transcripts.

GPA: Grade Point Average which are calculated by dividing your quality points by the total credits you've taken. Included in GPA computation are grades of A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, and F. Grades of P are included in earned credit, but not in GPA credit. I, NC, Y, U, *, EN, and W are considered administrative marks rather than grades and have no effect on a student's earned credit or GPA credit. Note: The NC grade was eliminated as of Winter 2019.

The grades included in the GPA computation have the following weights:
A+ = 4.30 B+ = 3.30 C+ = 2.30 D+ = 1.30
A = 4.00 B = 3.00 C = 2.00 D = 1.00
A- = 3.70 B- = 2.70 C- = 1.70 D- = 0.70
F = 0.00
