Websites not only need to look good, they need to communicate. We’ll help you do both.

What you’ll earn

Lane’s web design certificate will provide you with the skills necessary for an entry-level position in the web development industry, or for transfer to another institution.

1 year certificate

As a web designer, you’ll need to know how to create effective, visually appealing sites, manage and design sites, and effectively communicate with developers, systems administrators, copyeditors, and clients. The Web Design certificate at Lane Community College will help you develop those skills, while providing you opportunities to develop real-world work experience.

1 year Full-time

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop working websites.
  • Use of Photoshop and Illustrator to produce and optimize graphics for web use.
  • Understand the concept, potential and implications of communicating ideas using computer-based interactive media technology.
  • Understand the concepts of media and its effect on society, and how to use media ethically.
  • Deepen and develop your skills in areas such as writing for the web, graphic and web design, working with visual imagery, video, sound, animation, and more.

AFTER LANE

By earning your web design certificate you’ll have built the foundation to launch your career designing, creating, and administering interactive, professional web sites. as well as the ability to further develop advanced skills in web design or web development.
