  • January 28 through January 31: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please plan accordingly: Tests must be started at least 45 minutes before closing time. Tests must be submitted at the closing times listed below.

Information for Faculty:

Requesting a make-up or other exam for Winter 2025? Please complete this Winter 25 form.

Faculty may request to have up to 3 exams proctored through ITS per section (CRN); exceptions are made on a space-available basis. In addition, instructors may request make-up exam proctoring for individual students throughout the term, though the process of electronic registration is the same (see more information below).

Paper exams should be dropped off at our office in advance, either during open business hours or (clearly labeled) in the locked dropbox outside of Center 311.

For scheduled exams being taken by the whole class, instructors may select a range of dates during which testing may occur during open testing center hours. Instructors who would like to have a test proctored through ITS need to fill out a Test Request Form as far in advance as possible.

The Instructional Testing Center space in Center 311 has approximately 90 computers and desks, and it can also be reserved for faculty to proctor tests for their whole class all at one time. The center will close during the term when it is reserved for full-class testing.

Testing space is on a first-come, first-serve basis, based on calculations of traffic in the center, and testing administration is not guaranteed. Currently, all tests are administered on a drop-in basis.

Make-Up Exam Proctoring:

Make up exams may be administered to students on a space-available basis. Please use the Test Request Form to give information on the tests and make sure all testing materials are received by ITS in advance of the make-up test start date. Please do not send students who missed class and are still experiencing symptoms of illness to ITS for testing.

Information for Students:

When you come to the testing center, please bring:

  • a valid form of state- or government-issued photo identification (driver's license, passport, etc.)
  • your L Number
  • your class number (such as Writing 121)
  • your instructor's name
  • and the name of the exam (Final Exam, Mid-term, Exam 3, etc.).

Our Winter 2025 identification procedure outlines what we accept for ID.  If you have lost your ID, contact your instructor for exceptions; we cannot allow anyone to test without a form of identification unless their instructor has pre-approved this.

Personal belongings including smartphones, smartwatches, smart glasses, earbuds, headphones, smart rings, other electronic devices, and materials like purses or bags will need to be secured in our free lockers before you begin your exam. You may bring a clear water bottle with you to the exam.

Please allow an appropriate amount of time to take your exam. Tests will be closed when the center closes, and no exams will be administered within 45 minutes of the center's closing time.

Testing takes place on a drop-in basis (come on over! No appointment needed).
