Requirements

You must be an Oregon resident when you apply.

  • If you are not already a student, begin by applying for admission.
  • If you are a current credit student at Lane and have an L Number, start your application and select "I have completed program requirements and am applying to a special admission program."
  • If you previously attended Lane as a credit student but have not taken courses for four terms, you will need to re-apply to update your account.

In order to apply for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, you must complete the following prerequisite courses before the program starts in fall. Please consult the Admissions Worksheet in the "Before You Apply" section or more information.

Required Courses

  • HP 100
  • HP 150, HP 152, BI 102 (Human Biology), or BI 231
  • WR 121, WR 122, WR 123, or WR 227 or have a bachelor's degree on transcript
  • GS 104, PH 101, PH 102, PH 201, or higher physics

Recommended Courses 

Not required, but will get you more points on your application.

  • PSY 201, 202, 203, or 215
  • MTH 065, MTH 095, or any math class higher than MTH 095
  • BI 102 (Human Biology) or a full Anatomy and Physiology (A&P) series:
    • HP 150 - Human Body Systems 1 (3 Credits) and HP 152 - Human Body Systems 2 (3 Credits) or
    • BI 231, BI 232 and BI233 – Human Anatomy & Physiology (4 Credits each)

Have courses from another college?

Submit Non-Lane Official Transcripts to Enrollment Services:

  • All courses from other colleges used as prerequisites must be recorded on your official transcript. It is your responsibility to plan ahead and order transcripts prior to the application deadline.
  • Transcripts should be sent to and received by Lane Enrollment Services by the application close date. Submit non-Lane Transcripts.

Request Course Equivalency Evaluation (if needed):

  • Courses taken at other colleges may be eligible to use on your application.
  • Go to the Enrollment Services website on Transferring Credits and use the “Transfer Tool.”
  • If courses do not appear as equivalent, email: HPAdvising@lanecc.edu

Have other relevant experience?

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed and appear on your Lane transcript or submitted official non- Lane transcripts prior to fall entry. Please note that there is a GPA Requirement. Consult the Admissions Worksheet in the "Before You Apply" section or more information.
  • Note all applicable classes and credits carefully. Do not leave course, school, term, or number credits information blank. Incomplete applications will be not be accepted.
  • Credit will not be given if you do not enter course information even if it’s on your transcript.
  • Upload each required or supplemental form into the portal prior to submitting the application.
  • Make sure to click on the final "Submit" button after you review your application.
  • Sign and return of all forms and necessary materials sent by email to you after you have confirmed your program acceptance.
  • Attend the mandatory orientation to discuss program expectations.
