EUGENE, Ore. – The Student Productions Association of Lane Community College presents the 2018 “Turkey Shorts,” a world premiere of seven new works for the theatre written by Lane theatre students and local playwright Russell Dybal.
Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 8, 9, 10 and 15, 16, 17 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays, Nov. 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.; all in the Blue Door Theatre, Building 6, LCC main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene.
“Turkey Shorts” offers Lane theatre students the opportunity to take full control of the production process, beginning from the conception of a play to closing weekend. The plays are a mix of comedy and drama that will give audiences a lot to think about. The shows are appropriate for ages 10 and up.
SPA welcomes local professional actor Inga Wilson to its growing list of collaborators. Eugene audiences have seen Wilson on stage at Oregon Contemporary Theatre and many have taken her acting classes at OCT. She will provide guidance and support to the directors, playwrights, and designers.
Playwrights include Tae Critchett, Adam Nealy, Deziree Brock, Melia Scanlon, and Ashley Johanssen. The productions will be directed by Nathan Dunlap, Tyler Anthony, Aaron Smart, Malakhai Schnell, and Adam Nealy. Emma Weinkauf will serve as playwright and director for a new devised work, created collaboratively with three actors.Tickets are free and available at the door. Donations are accepted for production expenses and theatre studies scholarships.
