EUGENE, Ore.–Beginning this fall, the Lane Community College Student Production Association in collaboration with the Lane Theatre Program will offer free workshops on a variety of topics each Thursday at 5 p.m. during the school terms. Workshops will be free to all LCC students, employees, and community members.
The schedule this fall will focus on playwriting and directing. For anyone interested in writing or directing for “Winter Shorts,” SPA’s annual 10-minute play festival, Thursdays@5 will be a great way to learn the basics or sharpen your skills. Prior experience welcome but not required.

October 15 – Playwriting
- October 22 – Playwriting
- October 29 – Directing
- November 5 – Playwriting
- November 12 – Directing
- November 19 – Playwriting
- November 26 – Directing
- December 3 – Playwriting
Participants are encouraged to drop in or attend the first of each topic and return subsequent weeks to share what you have written and/or build upon your growing knowledge. Workshops in the coming terms will focus on a wider variety of topics including improv, voice, and movement for performance.
