EUGENE, Ore. – The Student Production Association of Lane Community College is proud to announce its 2019-20 season: World Premiers and “James and the Giant Peach.”
“The Family Treasure” by Aaron Michael Smart will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. from November 14-24 in the Blue Door Theatre on LCC’s main campus. Auditions will be held Wednesday and Thursday, October 2 and 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Door. This world premiere by local playwright and SPA alumni Aaron Michael Smart features three siblings who sift through their family history while searching for gold in the Oregon woods and realize their pioneer history of adventure and tragedy may also be filled with lies. Part mystery, part family drama, and part old-timey Western with many twists and turns.
“Winter Shorts” will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. from February 6 through 16 in the Blue Door Theatre. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, November 4 and 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Door. SPA’s annual showcase of new works for the stage written by student and local playwrights and directed and produced by Lane theatre students. A chance to see what the theatre makers of tomorrow are up to.
“James and the Giant Peach” from the book by Ronald Dahl and dramatized by Richard R. George will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. from April 23 through May 3 in the Ragozzino Performance Hall on LCC’s main campus. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, February 24 and 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Door. An amazing adventure that will fulfill the fantasy of anyone who has ever dreamed of escape. Roald Dahl's story comes hilariously to life in this delightful dramatization that reveals the wickedness of some, the goodness of others, and the indecision encountered by many when faced with crises. Children of all ages welcome.
All auditions are open to all students and community members.
Tickets are offered on a “pay what you can” scale, and are available at the door.
