EUGENE, Ore.— The Lane Community College Warming Center is activated for Monday, Feb. 19 and is on standby for and Tuesday, Feb. 20, and Wednesday, Feb. 21.
The LCC Warming Center is located in Building 4, Room 104, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. The center opens at 6 p.m. and is accessible. While primarily intended for students and other homeless members of the LCC community, no one will be turned away. LCC will provide two meals, access to restrooms and showers, and a safe, warm place to sleep, including bedding.
LCC’s works in partnership with Egan Warming Centers. Egan centers open when the temperature is expected to drop below 30 degrees, from Nov. 15 to March 31 each winter.
LCC’s center was established by the combined efforts of students and the Department of Public Safety with support from campus Food Services and the Center for Meeting and Learning.
