Curtain Call For All is a young organization that was created by theatre students from Lane Community College to help give a voice to those that have been affected by suicide. It is CCFA’s hope to promote successful strategies to increase awareness and positive communication about suicide loss and survival through performing arts.
“Lighting the Darkness: Stories of Suicide and Carrying On” is a collection of shorts about suicide and finding the light that remains. The event will include sound healing and guided meditation to help process the emotions of the evening.
“Aurora” by Ramon Esquivel and directed by Aaron Michael Smart is a beautiful story of invoking the spirit of a loved one that died from suicide and being given permission to move on.
“Always Light a Candle” by Dorothy Velasco and directed by Erica Towe is a touching tale of a woman grieving the loss of her husband who died from suicide and the process that brings her healing.
“The Bottom of the Hill” by William James Ford and directed by Haley Raye, is about the loss of a parent to suicide and the lifelong struggles that can result.
A silent auction of wonderful items generously donated by community supporters will take place during the event. Additionally, artwork inspired by the topic of suicide on loan from local artists will be on display.
Tickets are free and available at the door. Donations will be accepted for production expenses and to help fund future production.
