Medicines often languish in home cabinets and are susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Many people are unsure how to properly dispose of unused medicines, sometimes flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away – both potential safety and health hazards. Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs to keep them out of the environment and out of the wrong hands. LCC turns over collected medicines to the DEA which incinerates them safely.
