Students from Lane Community College's Aviation Maintenance Program competed in a skills competition at the 2017 Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show recently held in Puyallup, Washington. Fielding two teams in this regional event, Lane Team #2 placed second and Lane Team #1 placed fourth. During the competition, teams had to diagnose a variety of complex mechanical and electrical issues and demonstrate skills in completing repairs quickly and accurately.

Lane Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) faculty member Neal Gallagher said he was proud of the teams and their ability to compete with other professionals in the profession. The Lane AMT program is Lane Community College's oldest program and is located at the Eugene Airport along with the Flight Technology program.
