EUGENE, Ore. – The Lane Community College Dance program is excited to present the work of Lane dance faculty, alumni, and local guest artists in Collaborations 2017, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ragozzino Performance Hall, main campus.
Emerging choreographers and Lane Alumni Hannah Downs, Mariah Melson, and Jackie Thelen will be returning to Lane as professionals to present their work.
Eugene Youth Ballet will perform a new dance choreographed by Sarah Ebert. DanceAbility International, which celebrates dance as a vehicle for connection and inclusion, will also be performing.
Lane dance faculty Bonnie Simoa and Sarah Nemecek will present original work with the Lane Dance Company. In addition, Sarah Nemecek’s “Field of View,” a 2015 collaboration with videographer Ian Coronado and composer Melissa Stark, will be performed in Collaborations 2017. Later this month, the piece will represent the Lane Dance Program at the American College Dance Association Conference’s adjudicated concert at the University of Oregon during spring break.

The choreographers have created works exploring rich themes in a variety of genres including modern, ballet, and inter-media.
