Actors needed for the musical story of how a miserable orphan became Peter Pan
EUGENE, Ore. — The Student Production Association of Lane Community College is seeking actors for its production of “Peter and the Starcatcher.” This wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels is a Tony-winning play that upends what we think about how Peter Pan became a cultural icon. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, this show explores the depths of greed and despair as well as the bonds of friendship, duty, and love.
Auditions are between 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. February 26 and 2.7 in the Blue Door Theater, building 6, LCC main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. Actors need attend only one of these audition days, preferably Monday. No need to sign up for an audition time. Actors will read from the script, no need for a prepared monologue. Roles are available for 12 to 30 actors of every age, gender identity, race, and physicality. Singers, actors, performers, story tellers, and vaudeville wannabes are encouraged to come join the fun. Auditions are open to students and community members. Rehearsals will begin in mid-March. No rehearsals will be held during spring break (March 26-30). Performances are April 26-May 6.
Tara Wibrew is excited to be returning to Lane to direct for SPA. She is the associate producer at Oregon Contemporary Theatre and a former SPA president. Her recent directing credits include “Middletown” and “Melancholy Play” at OCT, and “Pillowman” at Lane.
