EUGENE, Ore.–The Student Production Association of Lane Community College will hold auditions for “The Oresteia Project” on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Ragozzino Performance Hall, Bldg. 6, Lane main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. Actors and singers should arrive by 6 p.m. but may arrive as late as 8 p.m.
SPA first presented Oresteia (oh-rehs-TY-uh) in 2017. Based on the trilogy of ancient Greek tragedies by Aeschylus, this original musical production is a combination rock concert, Broadway musical, and Greek tragedy. This year, writers are working on a new look and lyrics, but keeping Cullen Vance’s awesome music and even adding a couple new songs, says SPA director and LCC Head of Theater Brian Haimbach. “Come join us as we prepare for world domination!”
Auditions are open to students and community members. Singers are especially needed, but there are many parts for non-singing actors too. Auditionees will learn a song and read from scripts. There’s no need to prepare a song or monologue.
To schedule an alternate audition day, contact Brian Haimbach at haimbachb@lanecc.edu or (541) 463-5648.
About 20 roles are available for actors of every age, race, gender identity, and level of experience. Rehearsals will be based on actor availability. Performances will be held February 21-24, 2019.
