EUGENE, Ore.–The Student Production Association of Lane Community College will hold auditions for the world premiere production of “The Family Treasure” by Aaron Michael Smart in the Blue Door Theater, Bldg. 6, Lane main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. Actors can arrive any time between 5 and 7 p.m.
This is a world premiere by local playwright and SPA alumnus Aaron Michael Smart. Three siblings sift through their family history while searching for gold in the Oregon woods and realize their pioneer history of adventure and tragedy may also be filled with lies. It’s part mystery, part family drama, and part old-timey Western with many twists and turns.
Director Dr. Brian Haimbach says, “I am excited to work on this play with Aaron. He was a student and now is a respected colleague. It offers six awesome parts for student and community actors. The actors will be proud to have been part of the beginning life of this beautiful play.”
Parts are available for six actors of any type or gender identity. No experience is necessary. Auditions are open to students and community members. No prepared monologue is necessary; actors will read from the script. Rehearsals will be based on actor availability. Performance dates are Nov. 14-24.
For information and/or to read the script, please contact Brian Haimbach at haimbachb@lanecc.edu or (541) 463-5648.
