ALBANY, Ore. — The Lane Titans Baseball team clinched a hard-fought victory in their opening game of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) South Super Regional. Hosted at Linn-Benton Community College, the highly competitive tournament began Friday, May 19th, and continues through Saturday, May 20th.
In the opening game, Everett emerged victorious over Walla Walla with a decisive 8-1 win. This led to a high-stakes face-off in Game 2 between Everett and the Lane Titans.
The Titans exhibited great teamwork, with Cole Calnan's solid pitching and a vital three-run fifth inning serving as game-changers. Noah Juarez stepped up in the clutch, driving in a single at the bottom of the eighth inning that brought Ryan Thomas home. The play gave the Titans the lead, and ultimately the 5-4 win.
With Game 1 under their belt, the Titans are on the brink of capturing the NWAC South Super Regional title. A rematch against Everett awaits the Titans in Game 3 on Saturday, starting at noon. If the Titans secure the win, they will seize the tournament. However, an Everett victory would force Game 4, commencing at approximately 4 p.m.
Here are a few key details regarding the continuation of the tournament:
- Admission will be charged per day with the following fees: Adults: $10; Student/Seniors: $8; Ages 7-12: $5. Admission is free for children 6 and under, as well as military personnel.
