EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College's Cross Country head coach, Ethan Yorges, has earned the title of NWAC Southern Region Men’s Coach of the Year. This prestigious honor comes after the Titans’ impressive performance at the recent Southern Region Championship, held at Clackamas Community College, where they secured the region title. The recognition marks a significant milestone for both Yorges and the program, showcasing the team's dedication and talent.
In just his second season as head coach of both men’s and women’s cross country and track & field, Yorges has quickly built upon the Titans’ foundation, driving the team to new heights. His leadership has positioned both teams as strong contenders for the upcoming NWAC Championships, set to take place on November 9th. Yorges’ swift impact on the program is already evident, as this is his first Coach of the Year award.
The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), which oversees community college athletics in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, is responsible for managing championships, eligibility, rule enforcement, and sports information. Lane Community College is one of 36 member institutions in the NWAC, which aims to enrich student life and support athletic development at the community college level.
