LCC wins 7 national marketing awards

EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College won seven awards at the 10th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards competition, including five golds, one bronze and overall merit recognition.

There were more than 1,000 entries in 36 categories from colleges, universities and secondary schools throughout the country. Judges included higher ed marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals. The digital marketing awards competition is coordinated by the Educational Advertising Awards, the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country.

The five gold awards recognized excellence for digital marketing campaigns online and social media. Two golds were awarded for the College’s “Dream to Degree” campaign, which also received merit recognition. An enrollment campaign titled, “We See the YOU We Know You Can Be,” won two additional golds, one for the overall campaign and another for best Instagram ad. Lane was also recognized with one gold and one bronze for a social media campaign that promoted the College’s COVID reopening plans.

Lane’s marketing program is directed by Rebecca Long, director of marketing and strategic communications, and overseen by Brett Rowlett, executive director of external affairs. The web team includes Kyle Schmidt and Lori Brenden. The marketing program works in close partnership with the campus Design and Media Center, staffed by graphic design students under the direction of faculty Tom Madison in the Media Arts department.
