EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College President, Dr. Stephanie Bulger, has been appointed to the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. With over 19 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Bulger has held various leadership positions, including Vice Chancellor of Instructional Services at the San Diego Community College District, where she has served 100,000 students at three colleges and a College of Continuing Education.

As a leader in the community college sector, Dr. Bulger has been involved in initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges facing today’s community colleges. She has improved student transfer to universities, lowered textbook costs, expanded opportunities for dual enrollment, improved enrollment management, and connected more students to today’s jobs. Her passion for community vitality, the humanities, and the arts is reflected in her community service, where she has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Military Advisory Council and The Old Globe Theatre, among others.
Dr. Bulger joined Lane Community College in July 2022. She has been recognized for her leadership and contributions to higher education and has received several awards, including the 2008 Distinguished Woman in Higher Education Leadership Award from the Michigan chapter of the American Council on Education Women’s Network.
