LCC offers Saturday info session for prospective students

EUGENE, Ore. — Those thinking about college enrollment typically have questions. From how to pay to what to study, potential students need information to put them on the path to a successful future in higher education and beyond. Sponsored by the Lane Community College Foundation, LCC is providing prospective students just that with an information session that promises everything one needs to know about getting started with Lane in just one day.

Anyone interested in getting more information about LCC’s wide variety of programs and financial aid opportunities is invited to stop anytime Saturday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mary Spilde Center, Room 220, 101 West 10th Ave. in downtown Eugene. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and guide participants through the process of:

  • Applying to LCC
  • Submitting a FAFSA/ORSAA to qualify for financial aid opportunities
  • Applying for scholarships from OSAC and the LCC Foundation
  • Applying for the Oregon Promise, a grant that can cover tuition costs to an Oregon community colleges for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates

"There's an incredible amount of financial resources available to students, but deadlines to apply for many scholarships and grants are quickly approaching" said Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator Rosa Mara Bañuelos-Uribe. "If you've been thinking about starting or finishing a degree or certificate, there's never been a better time to do it."

Those wanting to apply should bring their questions and their 2019 & 2020 W2 forms, as well as 2019 & 2020 tax returns . Computers, one on one assistance, and food/drink will be available.
