EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its brand-new Transfer Center, set to take place on Thursday, October 19, during National Transfer Student Week. This center will serve as a pivotal hub for Lane Community College students as they navigate the journey of transferring to four-year institutions.
The Transfer Center's primary objective is to provide students with an invaluable resource to meet with representatives from prospective transfer institutions. These representatives will offer guidance and insights on admissions, academic programs, financial aid, and other essential student support services. Whether students are planning to enter the workforce immediately upon earning their bachelor's degree or intend to further their education in graduate school, Lane Community College's Transfer Center will ensure they are well-prepared for whatever comes next.
The Transfer Center's inaugural event will feature representatives from the University of Oregon (UO) who will be available for consultations with Lane Community College students. UO staff members specializing in advising and admissions will be on-site from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday to provide assistance and answer any questions students may have.
"We are thrilled to announce the opening of Lane Community College's dedicated Transfer Center," said Associate Dean of Enrollment Management/Registrar, Dawn Whiting. "The Transfer Center represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with four-year institutions and to create a welcoming space where our students can access additional support and guidance on their transfer journey. This space is intended to provide invaluable resources to students, removing any barriers they may encounter during the transfer process, and serving as a convenient meeting place for our esteemed university partners to engage with our students and share valuable resources."
