EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Titans Men’s Cross Country team triumphed at the 2024 Southern Region Championship, held Sunday, October 27, in Oregon City. With the victory, the Titans celebrated their 18th Southern Region title in program history, adding to a legacy of success following their last title win in 2022.
Leading the Titans’ charge was freshman Conner Lamb, who secured a 2nd place individual finish with a standout time of 26:42.10. Hot on his heels was teammate Nathan Glazier, who clinched 3rd place, finishing in 26:47.60. Rounding out the Titans’ top performance, Tyler Davis placed 6th with a time of 27:00.02. Lamb, Glazier, and Davis were each honored with All-Region Team selections for their efforts.
The Titans’ Head Coach, Chris Yorges, who is in only his second season, was awarded the title of Southern Region Coach of the Year on the men’s side, a testament to his leadership and the team’s cohesive dedication. “We are very proud of our team’s accomplishments today,” Coach Yorges commented. “Every team member has put in a lot of hard work and preparation to get to this point. Our team exudes an incredible amount of support for all of its members, and these accomplishments should be celebrated.”
The Titans now set their sights on the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Cross Country Championships, scheduled for November 9 at Chambers Bay in Washington, where they aim to continue their championship momentum.
