EUGENE, Ore. — The Native American Student Association (NASA) at Lane Community College is proud to announce the return of its Annual Pow Wow on Saturday, April 5, from noon to 10 p.m. This vibrant cultural celebration will take place in the Lane Gymnasium, located in Building 5 on the main campus at 4000 E. 30th Ave. in Eugene.

The Pow Wow, one of the largest gatherings in the Northwest, welcomes participants and spectators from throughout the region. The event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. All dancers and drum groups are invited to participate.

Two Grand Entries highlight the day's activities, beginning at noon and again at 7 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a complimentary salmon bake dinner hosted at the Dave Parnell Center Building from 5:30 to 7 p.m., following a special personnel feed for head staff, drummers, dancers, and vendors from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

Vendors offering traditional arts, crafts, and food will be located in the gym lobby and along the exterior of Titan Coliseum. Attendees can also visit the NASA information table at the gym entrance for schedules, raffle tickets, and official Pow Wow T-shirts for purchase.

This year’s head staff includes Master of Ceremonies Nick Sixkiller, Arena Director Anthony Quenelle, Head Woman Dancer Keke Singer, and Head Man Dancer Zechariah Webb. The event’s Host Drum is Bad Soul and will feature four other invited drums: Northwest Connection, Soaring Hawk Singers, Red River, and Turquoise Pride Drum.

Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited at the event.

Since its inception, the Pow Wow has significantly contributed to the growth of the Native American student community at Lane Community College.
