EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College (LCC) is excited to announce the launch of the Welcome Back Scholarship, financial assistance for returning Lane students who have an outstanding balance preventing them from registering in the upcoming fall term, starting September 26. The scholarship, funded by the Lane Community College Foundation, provides up to $300 to support students in continuing their studies.
"We believe that financial hurdles should never be the reason a student can't finish their education,” said LCC Vice President of Student Affairs Colman Joyce. “The Welcome Back Scholarship is our way of saying, 'We've missed you, and we're committed to helping you cross the finish line.'”

Additional financial aid available
In addition to the Welcome Back Scholarship, which assists returning students with outstanding balances of up to $300, LCC offers various other financial aid resources. "I urge students to explore their financial options by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly known as FAFSA," commented Kathy Campbell, LCC's Director of Financial Aid. "Numerous avenues exist for students aiming to return and finish their studies. One notable program is the 'Fresh Start' initiative from the U.S. Department of Education. It empowers returning students, even those who have previously defaulted on federal student loans, to become eligible for financial assistance." Learn more about the 'Fresh Start' program.
