EUGENE, Ore–Lane Community College and Pacific Northwest College of Art have signed a transfer agreement for LCC art students to enter PNCA as a junior, saving up to two years’ worth of tuition costs.
LCC students will be able to transfer credits in a broad variety of subjects including drawing, graphic design, animation, and art history, as well as standard academic subjects such as language, math, and social sciences.
“LCC has a vibrant arts program, and we are thrilled to offer our transfer students the chance to continue their education at PNCA,” said Dr. Margaret Hamilton, President of Lane Community College. “PNCA is known for inspiring innovators and culture-makers who go on to be teachers, professional artists, gallery owners, and art museum curators.”
PNCA is offering a $20,000 Lane Transfer Scholarship, renewable for up to two additional years, along with additional grant and loan opportunities to further decrease the cost of attendance at PNCA. PNCA will review Lane transfer student applications based on this agreement beginning in fall 2020. LCC students who need more information can contact the arts department at artsprograms@lanecc.edu.
“We are excited to provide this pathway to Pacific Northwest College of Art’s high-quality BFA programs to students at LCC,” said Dr. Christopher Maples, PNCA Interim President. “LCC transfer students will have support from PNCA totaling up to a minimum of $60,000 to complete their BFAs.”
Under the leadership of President Margaret Hamilton, LCC has entered into transfer agreements with other Oregon institutions including Bushnell University (formerly Northwest Christian University), Oregon State University College of Business, and Pacific University. Transfer agreements help LCC students earn advanced degrees at significant cost savings.
