The Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology Apprenticeship program provides a structured system of training in millwright trades or occupations, leading to certification and journey-level status, only for apprentices who are sponsored by individual employers, accepted by a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, and registered with the State of Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- The duties and responsibilities of the millwright trade
- Machine shop skills
- Industry safety standards
- Mechanical and/or electrical industrial systems
- Customer relations skills
- Communication and critical thinking skills
AFTER LANE
After your apprenticeship, you can apply for a journeyman millwright license. The current minimum journey-level wage for millwrights is $34.05 per hour.

Earn a certificate on your road to apprenticeship with just a few classes.
Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology - 1-yr Certificate
Earn a certificate on your road to apprenticeship. You'll take more classes to deepen your skills and earn 1 year certificate.
Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology - AAS
Earn a degree on your road to apprenticeship. You'll take more classes to deepen your skills and earn an associate (2 year) degree.
