EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College is marking a major milestone in its 2020 bond-funded campus improvements with the opening of the new Industry and Trades Education Center (ITEC), one of several transformative projects completed or underway thanks to the $121.5 million bond measure approved by voters.

The public will have an opportunity to tour the ITEC and learn more about the ongoing upgrades during the college’s annual Open House on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main campus.

The $49.5 million ITEC is a 55,000-square-foot facility designed to support career training in advanced manufacturing, construction technology, and unmanned aircraft systems. It stands as the most visible achievement of the bond to date and underscores Lane’s investment in preparing students for high-wage, high-demand jobs.

Other key projects funded by the 2020 bond include:

  • Expansion of Health Professions and Dental Clinic Facilities, supported by an $8 million state grant, to grow access to hands-on learning and expand services to the community.

  • Seismic and Safety Upgrades to aging buildings, ensuring a safer and more resilient campus.

  • Modernized Classrooms and Technology that support collaborative, real-world learning.

  • Campuswide IT Infrastructure Improvements that enhance connectivity, security, and performance.

Visitors to the Open House can enjoy guided tours, meet instructors and students, and explore how these investments are shaping the future of education and workforce training in Lane County.
