EUGENE, Ore. — High school students graduating in 2025 or 2026 can significantly reduce the cost of starting college thanks to Lane Community College's tuition-free course initiative. This program offers eligible students one tuition-free college-credit course during the spring or summer terms of 2025.

Participating students will pay only for course fees, textbooks, and required materials, with additional savings opportunities available through courses utilizing Open Educational Resources (OER). Comprehensive student support, including academic advising and tutoring services, is also provided at no extra charge.

Since launching in 2020, this successful initiative has allowed more than 400 local students to collectively save over $150,000 in tuition costs.
