PASS Lane Nursing Assistant Preparation for students whose first languages are not English:
Reading skills must be good enough to read a clearly written, health science textbook mostly accurately. Reading slowly is OK, but being able to read accurately is essential. Much of the Nursing Assistant training requires the student to read independently. The textbook is 20 chapters long with 226 pages of information to be read and learned in less than 11 weeks. Health Science texts are dense, which means there is a lot of information packed into each page. For students whose first languages are not English, we are pleased to offer additional English language vocabulary, speaking and reading support through our PASS Lane Nursing Assistant Preparation program.
PASS Lane offers students an extra term to learn Nursing Assistant materials, ask questions about the text and the career, clarify areas of confusion, and learn new vocabulary. Learn more or apply to PASS Lane.
