Lane Community College (LCC) is pleased to announce that the application period for the Fall term LCC Dreams Fund Scholarship is now open. This scholarship provides vital financial assistance to students who are not eligible for federal Financial Aid due to their immigration status. Priority for this support is given to students enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, those transitioning to credit classes, and students pursuing short-term training programs.
For the Fall term, there are also additional funds specifically available for LCC students of Mexican origin with demonstrated financial need. This opportunity is made possible through the IME Becas Grant from the Mexican Consulate, which aims to support educational advancement and financial stability among students of Mexican heritage in the community. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for these funds to help cover essential costs, including tuition, fees, books, overdue payments, and educational supplies.
LCC's Dreams Fund Scholarships are made possible through a combination of private donations and grants, such as the Esperanza Fund, Puertas Abiertas Fund, Career Pathways, ESL Scholarship Fund, and the IME-Mexican Consulate grant. These funds provide a critical financial lifeline for DACA recipients, Dreamers, first-generation immigrant students, and other eligible individuals who face challenges in accessing traditional forms of Financial Aid.
The deadline to submit an application is September 25, 2024. Students interested in applying can find the application forms in both English and Spanish. For more information or questions regarding the scholarship, please contact DreamsFund@lanecc.edu.
