Lane Community College Hosts Open House This Saturday, May 4

EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College (LCC) is opening its doors to the community at its Open House event on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. Prospective students, families, and community members are invited to explore the diverse educational and career opportunities that LCC offers.

The Open House will feature departmental showcases, allowing visitors to engage with faculty and students from a wide range of programs including Aviation - Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Business, Computer Information Technology, and Health Professions among others. Special focus will be given to interactive and kid-friendly activities. For those interested in science, departments such as Anatomy, Biology, and Earth & Environmental Sciences will conduct live demonstrations and experiments.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the LCC Choir and Music Department will perform live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and art enthusiasts can enjoy exhibitions from the Media Arts and Visual Arts departments. For younger visitors, there will be bounce houses, a mega inflatable obstacle course, and a chance to take a photo with Ty the Titan, LCC’s mascot.

Local food vendors, including Handel's Homemade Ice Cream and J&J's Java offering free Titan hot cocoa, will provide refreshments throughout the event.
