Denita Tanner of Eugene was 39 years old when she decided to change careers and train at Lane Community College to become a respiratory therapist. It was, she says, one of the best decisions she's ever made.

Randy Davis (left) graduated from Lane's Exercise and Movement Science program. John Jenkins (right), graduated from Lane's EMT Program. They own and operate ProFitness Personal Training in downtown Eugene.

In 2009, they squeezed refurbished gym equipment into a small downtown Eugene space, and launched ProFitness Personal Training. A devoted membership grew, and with it, the need for more room. In February 2012, ProFitness relocated to a larger building a half-block from the Hult Center.

Jane King wants to leave a legacy at Lane Community College. In 2004 she created an endowment to do just that. The endowment will fund the kinds of unique programs at Lane that she’s found most meaningful.

It was Jane King's two children, Jennifer and Rob, and her husband, Don, who first encouraged her to set up an endowment for the Lane Community College Foundation to fund innovative programs at Lane.

Their Eugene-based company, Premium Efficiency, conducts energy audits and performs air duct, air-sealing and insulation services for residential properties.
