The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among associate degree students. To achieve this purpose the organization provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service. Besides becoming involved in chapter, college, and community activities, there are many other benefits to becoming a member.

The chapter at Lane Community College is called Sigma Zeta. For 2009 Sigma Zeta has continued to be a five star chapter.

• Meetings during fall term will be held on Mondays at 4 p.m. in Building 2, Room 213.
• The Honors Seminars will be during our meeting times on November 30, January 25, and February 22.
• The next Road Cleanup will be Monday, February 15, at 9 a.m. This will be followed by our traditional potluck.
