Enhanced Member Program

The Enhanced Member program is designed to offer Phi Theta Kappans the oppourtunity to glean maximum benefit from their membership.

Requirements

  • Current member of Sigma Zeta, Lane Community College's honor society.
  • Strong desire to help your chapter make improvements on campus and in the community.
  • Enthusiasm to help your fellow students be the best that they can be.
  • Willingness to work as a member of a great team of honor society members.

Membership Levels

Phi Theta Kappans made advance through the membership levels and earn points to accumulate all regalia for graduation.

  • star One Star:  15 points
  • starstar Two Star:  40 points
  • starstarstar Three Star:  75 points
  • starstarstarstar Four Star:  100 points
  • starstarstarstarstar Five Star:  150 points
  • Gold Member:  Five Stars plus 100 volunteer hours
  • Gold Key Member:  Five Stars plus 150 volunteer hours

Membership Points

Points are awarded as follows.

1 point:

  • Photographing events (and providing photos to the chapter)
  • Attending a new member orientation
  • Attending an induction ceremony
  • Attending a chapter meeting

2 points:

  • Attending a scholarship event
  • Attending a leadership event
  • Attending a service event
  • Being an active committee member

5 points:

  • Recruiting a new member
  • Providing refreshments for an event
  • Participating in a fundraising activity
  • Setting up or tearing down an event
  • Writing a newsletter article
  • Giving a class presentation on Phi Theta Kappa

10 points:

  • Heading a committee
  • Attending a regional or international activity
  • Running for a chapter, regional, or international office

Contact any chapter officer or the advisor to learn more about earning points. Points should be reported to the Communications Officer by the end of each term. A brochure is available:  Page 1 and Page 2.
