Off Campus Database Access
Lane Library subscribes to various online resources. Use of these resources is limited to current Library patrons. Most links to these resources connect directly from the Library's online databases web page. To gain access to the resources from off campus, you will be prompted to enter your last name and "L" number.
Directions:
- Select a link from the Library's Find an Article page.
- If you are off campus, and the resource limits access to Library patrons, you will be prompted to enter your last name and "L" number.
- If you are in the Library's database as a student, staff member, or community borrower you will be connected to the online resource.
America Online (AOL) Users:
It has been reported that Version 7 will not allow authentication to online resources. AOL users using higher versions than 7 have not experienced this problem. If you are using AOL Version 7, you may consider upgrading. You may also try using the URLs AND passwords located on the list of databases and electronic journals passwords (see information below).
Database and Electronic Journals Password List
For resources that require passwords or if you are having difficulty accessing the online resources using the method described above.
- Connect to the databases and e-journals catalog record
- In the catalog record under "Web Resource", click "Database Password List."

- If an information box asks whether or not to display nonsecure items, select yes, otherwise the page may not display correctly (your personal data IS secure).
- You will be prompted to enter your last name, "L" number, AND Library PIN.
