Child Care Enhancement Program:
In 2003, the state legislature enacted a tax credit contribution plan designed to address the market failure in the child care sector. Lane Family Connections received funds to implement strategies to enhance child care in Lane County. The NEW Child Care Enhancement Program will provide funds to increase child care provider wages and professional development, decrease parent cost to less than 10 percent of family income, and improve the quality of child care. As part of the CCEP program, funds were allocated to continue the CARES project. For more information, contact Terri Hansen at (541) 463-3304 or hansent@lanecc.edu

Self Assessment: A Quality Improvement Program for Providers
(View info about rating scales)

The Self Assessment is a project that the Commission on Children and Families has funded through LFC for several years. It is a great self-evaluation program, enabling providers to assess the quality of their own child care or environment, services, and professionalism, and then to make improvements in those areas. It is a simple process that requires a minimum of effort and time. If you are interested you will need to participate in an orientation to review the program. Participants will receive the Harms-Clifford Environmental Rating Scale to keep and use whenever they want. Participants will also receive $150 to purchase items to enhance or improve the program. This opportunity is open to all child care providers. Lane Family Connections will accept 4 participants per year to take part in this program. If you are interested in more information or taking part in this unique opportunity, contact Lisa at Lane Family Connections at barragerl@lanecc.edu or (541) 463-3308.
