Take a Career Pathway Course

WHAT IS RTEC?

RTEC (Regional Technial Education Consortium) are career/technical courses not available at your high school.  These courses can get you on your way on a Career Pathway to your future. 


WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

High School juniors and seniors who are interested in taking introductory and pre-requisite courses for a jump start into career interest areas.

  • Computer Technology
  • Criminal Justice
  • Drafting at West Lane Tech
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Emergency Medical Technicial at Cottage Grove HS
  • Flight Technolgy
  • GIS Mapping
  • Health Occupations
  • Human Services
  • Welding/Fabrication
  • Fall 2008 RTEC/Career Pathways Courses *

COSTS?

  • Some high schools have funding for these courses while others do not
  • All high schools can assist students in identifying courses and helping students receive both high school and college credits

HOW DO I APPLY FOR RTEC?

  • See your high school guidance counselor to:
  • Meet with Jill Siegfried. She will contact you this spring to:
    • Discuss course choices, schedules, and plans
    • Sign up for August SOAR meeting
