  Helping you understand the process
Financial Aid News

It's time to file your 2010-2011 FAFSA (summer 2010 through spring 2011). You may begin filing anytime after January 1, 2010 at fafsa.gov.

You can still file your 2009-2010 FAFSA for the 2009-2010 academic year (summer 2009 through spring 2010). Be sure to plan ahead and prepare for possible delays in processing your application due to our significant increase in financial aid applications.

Students who received a Pell grant during summer term 2009 may be eligible for an additional Pell grant for spring term 2010. To learn more, go to www.lanecc.edu/finaid/moneymat.htm

Financial aid refunds are now disbursed to students through the Lane CC Debit Card. To learn more, go to www.laneccdebitcard.com

In order to charge books in the bookstore, Lane must have a completed FAFSA on file. For more information, go to www.lanecc.edu/bookstore/

Our web pages have been created to help students understand the financial aid process. On the left you will see several links to choose from to select a specific topic. We hope these pages are helpful to you.

Staff are available at Enrollment and Student Financial Services to provide information about financial aid if you have questions.

Important information for the 2009-2010 academic/aid year (summer 2009 through spring 2010):

Lane has had a huge increase in financial aid applications for the 2009/2010 academic/aid year which take significant time to review.

If you have not yet received your financial aid award for spring term, you may not have aid in place to cover your spring term expenses. This means that you must look at the spring aid that you may eligible to receive at Lane as a reimbursement, not funds up front.

Also, if you have not yet submitted the FAFSA for spring term 2010, you may not have a financial aid award by the spring term April 4th refund deadline, which is the last day to drop classes without charges. You are welcome to enroll in classes, but you will need to have identified resources to cover your costs outside of anticipated financial aid if you retain classes after the refund deadline. Please plan ahead.

We are doing all we can with the limited resources available and appreciate your patience.
