There are two types of live interactive courses:

• on main campus and cable television
• via IP video to off-campus locations

Since live interactive courses may be videotaped, broadcast live on cable television and/or IP video, or the internet, by attending in the classroom, student grant their permission to LCC to use their likeness for educational or promotional purposes.

Live Interactive Courses – on main campus and cable television

Students enroll in these courses and participate by either:

• Attending on campus in the studio/classroom (Bldg 19, Rm 257) and registering for the "Campus" CRN (19/257 in the "Bldg/Rm or "Location" column), or
• Viewing the course off campus live on cable TV and registering for the "Cable TV" CRN (CABLE/TELEVISION in the "Bldg/Rm or "Location" column):
  • Comcast Cable - Channel 23 (serves Eugene, Springfield, Harrisburg, Junction City)
  • Charter Communications - Channel 9 (serves east Springfield, Pleasant Hill, Oakridge, Blue River, Veneta, Elmira, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Drain, Yoncalla, or
• Attending at the LCC at Cottage Grove campus and registering for the Cottage Grove CRN

These courses don't have orientation sessions. Just attend on campus or view off campus (depending on which CRN you are enrolled in) on the days and times the course meets. Students viewing the "live" course may participate by phoning in or by emailing questions and comments into the studio/classroom. Students viewing the course live on television need access to cable TV (not available on satellite services). All students need internet access.

Live interactive courses are intended to be seen "live," but if you cannot attend or view a class at its scheduled time, please make arrangements to videotape the class. If you miss a class, one videotaped copy is placed on reserve and may be viewed in the LCC library the day after the live showing, but there are no copies available for checkout.

Live Interactive Courses – via IP video to off-campus locations

Several live interactive courses are offered via IP video to LCC at Florence, LCC at Cottage Grove, and one course is sent to Grand Ronde and Chemeketa Community College.

These courses have one instructor located on the main campus. Courses are sent to the off-campus centers via IP video, a two-way video and audio system. Students enroll in these courses and participate by attending on main campus in the studio/classroom (Bldg 19, Rm 257 or 254), or by attending at the off-campus location. Register for the CRN for the location where you want to attend. Not all courses are available at all locations. These courses must be attended in person. They are not on television, videotaped, or available for viewing at a later time.
