- Master the art of using your camera, film or digital, for taking better photographs. Course covers the basics from appropriate use of shutter speeds, apertures, good exposure, lens selection and use of electronic flash. All levels of experience welcome and student suggestions for topics are encouraged.
Can Photographers Fly?- Instructor: Gordon Nagai
- Would you like to free the artist within and become more than a chronicler of family gatherings? Learn principles or aesthetics and composition tools to improve your photographs and, through introspective exercises, learn to approach photography as a meditative process leading to a clarification of your personal vision and visual voice and the release of your inner passions.
Digital Photography - Instructor: Michael Acord
- Use your camera to create better landscapes, portraits and still life photography. Learn general photography skills such as lighting, composition, aperture and shutter settings. This hands-on class allows students to create photos in a studio setting.
Nature Photography - Instructor: David Stone
- Learn landscape, wildlife and close-up photography techniques. Class covers composition, lighting, lens, film choice and the use of accessories. Includes two weekend field sessions. Bring digital or film camera to class. Offered Spring and Summer terms only.
Using a Digital Camera 1 - Instructor: Dick Lennox
- A hands-on class on enjoying your digital camera. Learn settings, connecting to your computer, storing images and email.
Using a Digital Camera 2 - Instructor: Dick Lennox
- Fine tune your skills to get the most from your digital camera. Learn composition, lighting, color, angle, interest and more. Requires familiarity with basic digital camera functions. Bring your camera to class.

Black and White Darkroom

- Explore the multitude of black and white processes by working with a professional photographer in the darkroom.
Digital Output: Beginning to End
- Learn to optimize your images for print, e-mail or digital slide shows. Hands on instruction for downloading photos, formatting, sizing and resolution setting. Students should be comfortable using a computer. May bring your own images in digital format. Course uses Photoshop Elements 4.0 in a PC environment.
Introduction to Photoshop Elements
- Enhance brightness, contrast and sharpness, make selections, work in layers and prepare your photos for printing, email and websites.
Intermediate Photoshop Elements
- Take your photo editing skills to the next level by using filters, layer styles, effects and adjustment layers.
Photoshop, Quickstart
- Focus is on the basic concepts. For users with little or no experience with Photoshop.
Photoshop, Introduction
- Explore tools, layers, masks, scanning, image editing and compositing, photo retouching and more.
Photoshop, Intermediate: Digital Darkroom
- For Photoshop users who want to broaden their understanding of the program’s features, especially layers and channels and use of Photoshop for print and web graphics.
