Meet the Instructors
The Real Estate classes at Lane Community College are taught by recognized experts who work daily in the subject areas that they teach.
Bob Nelson, CCIM, has 35 years of real estate instructional experience. He holds an MBA degree in Marketing specializing in Real Estate from the Graduate School of Business and Management at the University of Oregon . He has taught real estate both at the University of Oregon Graduate School of Management and Business, and at Lane Community College . He holds the CCIM, GRI, and RECS designations. He has been a real estate investment broker in Oregon for 37 years and is the owner / principal broker of Pacwest Real Estate Real Investments. LLC. He is a recognized expert in the tax-deferred exchange of income properties. He is president of the Oregon and SW Washington CCIM Chapter, and a prior Realtor of the Year for the Eugene Association of Realtors. He co-hosts the popular radio show "Real Estate Today" weekdays at 5:40 pm on KUGN 590 AM. Bob currently coordinates the pre-license courses, ensuring top quality instructors, and restricts his teaching to real estate investment courses.
Jon Tronrud, is the owner/principal broker of Valley Investment Properties, a professional property management firm in the Eugene-Springfield area. Jon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon He has 22 years of professional property management experience and 19 years of property management teaching experience at Lane Community College . He has served several terms as the president of the Rental Owners Association. Recognized as an expert in landlord/tenant laws and procedures, he is known as the “Bad Tenant Eviction Specialist.” Jon is a very experienced property management instructor who "rarely sugar coats his message", and is known for " saying it exactly like it is ".
