Orientation

At orientation you will meet with the instructor and other instructional staff, and get a sense of what to expect from ABSE classes. You will be given tests in the subjects that you will be studying – typically reading, writing, and math. The multiple-choice reading and math tests are delivered in two parts – a short test that measures a broad range of skills, followed by a longer test that will pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses in each subject. You may also be given a non-multiple choice math test. For writing you will choose a topic on which to write an essay.
